End Of First Week
It's the end of the first week of school already and most of my kids have settled in their new class. But it seemed that some of them are not satified either with their new teachers or classmates. Boys too short lah, gals too bitchy lah, teachers not friendly lah, the list goes on. Hello my dear children, you are there to widen your knowledge and to realise your potential and not to get distracted by all the beautiful faces. Talking about that I remembered that I myself was some kind of a attraction during my secondary school days. I was (and still is) tall, dark and smart (or at least my class gals thought so). I was pretty strong in my Maths then and the gals who had problem with their Maths homework would come to me for help. My Maths teacher then, Mr Nair, spoke with such strong Indian accent that not many of us understood what he was teaching. I guessed my liking for Hindi movies and that my best friend was an Indian help me to understand him better than the others. As such I was popular among the gals and I enjoyed the attention that I was getting. I would explain the sums to them in group of 5s or 6s (already showing my potential as a teacher) but most of the time I would end up allowing them to copy my homework due to the little time we had just before school started. Come to think of it now, I realised that what a fool I had been. I had actually been made use of by my class gals to complete their work. Well, as the saying goes, 'You gain some, you lose some'. Through those sharing sessions, I did get to know one of the gals better. I was really captivated by her pair of electrifying eyes. I would .......................... (need time to recall)
